The platform, component by component

Not every project starts with the full system. Some OEMs want to replace a mains motor first, others need an evaluation kit before a development agreement. Every Kiwi component is a platform component: matched, documented and ready to grow into the complete system.

Evaluation kit

The evaluation kit is the fastest way to find out what the platform does on your machine. It is priced as a sample programme; the sample fee is credited against your series order.

  • Motor and controller sample set in your choice of 1500 or 3000 rpm, with cable set, CAN specification and datasheet.
  • Form-and-weight pack dummy so your engineers can test mounting, balance and head pressure on the real machine before the first pack ships.
  • Working pack demonstration at Kiwi in Dordrecht, or supervised on your site.
  • CAN floor-care charger of the Delta-Q class, and co-engineering hours to get the set running on your prototype.

Evaluation slots for Q4 2026 are limited. Launch partners get evaluation kits and engineering hours first.

Drive sets

Motor and controller, matched and documented

We do not sell bare motors. A bare 48 V motor is a commodity, and what makes it work in a machine is everything around it: a controller characterised for that motor, current limits that fit the pack, firmware that behaves like a floor machine, and a CAN interface your machine controller can read. That is what a Kiwi drive set is.

Who it is for

Machine builders converting a mains-powered single-disc, planetary or stone machine to 48 V, with their own battery solution today or the Kiwi pack tomorrow.

How it is sold

Evaluation quantities against the sample programme; series quantities against a supply agreement with minimum order quantities. Prices on request; not sold to end users or through marketplaces.

Why not a bare motor

Support, safety and consistency. A characterised set runs first time, fails safe, and speaks the same CAN dialect as the Kiwi pack, so your machine is ready for the full platform without a redesign.

Packs as part of a system

The horseshoe pack is supplied as part of a Kiwi system, with the matched controller and under a joint development or supply agreement. The reason is technical, not commercial: the pack only delivers voltage after a CAN handshake with a controller it recognises. That protects the operator, and it protects your machine's certification.

  • 1.5 kWh pack (30 Ah, 40 A continuous, 50 A peak): available for evaluation at Kiwi Dordrecht.
  • 1.0 kWh pack (20 Ah, 25 A, light-duty drives): in development.
  • Chargers: CAN-controlled floor-care chargers of the Delta-Q class, charging managed by the pack BMS.
  • Hybrid power module (battery plus mains): optional, in development.

Pack-level certification (UN 38.3, CE under Battery Regulation 2023/1542) is our responsibility; test reports and declarations ship with every batch for your machine CE file. Under a joint development agreement the pack can be adapted to your platform: see custom systems.
